At Kohli’s Indian Cuisine, our story is woven from threads of friendship, tradition, and a deep passion for food that transcends borders. Nestled in Nowra and near the tranquil waters of Batemans Bay, our beloved family-owned restaurants, along with our vibrant food trucks in Huskisson and event catering services, have become a cherished part of the community.
Our journey began back in 1998 when two ambitious students, Harpreet and Babz, set foot in Australia from India. Despite coming from different backgrounds, our families shared a rich tapestry of friendship that extended back to our school days, where we bonded over laughter and camaraderie during years 9 to 10. This special connection inspired us to dream big and craft something extraordinary together.
As we pursued our studies, our paths converged at Manjit’s Indian Restaurant in Corrimal, near Wollongong. There, we sharpened our culinary skills—Babz gleaning four years of experience
and Harpreet honing his craft over nearly six years. Armed with hospitality diplomas and a newfound expertise, we were ready to embark on our own culinary adventure.
In 2005, we set out to find the perfect location for our vision. After months filled with determination and hard work, we discovered a charming spot in Nowra. On the momentous day of December 18, 2005, Kohli’s Indian Cuisine opened its doors, aided by the unwavering support of my sister Jaspreet and my brother-in-law Bikram, who played pivotal roles in helping us establish the restaurant.
Fast forward to today, and Kohli’s Indian Cuisine has blossomed into a beloved destination for families, friends, and food enthusiasts. We take immense pride in serving authentic Indian dishes crafted with the finest ingredients, straight from our kitchens to your table. From our signature beef korma and creamy butter chicken to the aromatic lamb rogan josh and delightful mushroom matar, every dish is created with love and dedication.
